A Labor Doula with a Big Heart


MaryBeth Nance is a trained birth doula through DONA International and as a Labor Doula through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association).
Nance keeps abreast of current information by attending professional conferences and training classes, having completed 34.1 continuing education units past her certifications.

Nance explains, “My desire is to help women and their partners have beautiful childbirth experiences, full of peace and free from fear. I help women and their partners through pregnancy, during labor and delivery, and the immediate postpartum period to help insure a wonderful beginning to a new chapter in their lives.”
The services Nance offers include childbirth preparation, and support throughout labor and childbirth, and Reiki. Her diverse experiences providing support for expectant women includes both natural and medicated births, multiples, cesarean sections and vaginal births after cesareans.

Nance is also the National Director of Operation Special Delivery (OSD). The program offers military families professional childbirth assistance. Under Nance’s direction the program has recruited more than 300 labor doulas, bringing the total number of volunteers to about 600. The program has matched more than 500 expectant moms with labor doulas.
